Mary and Max

Mary and Max is without a doubt an interesting film. It is so much different than any other animated movie that come out every year. I loved the fact that it was a clay animation stop motion movie and I loved even more the choice in colours, black and white for Max in New York and Seppia for Mary in Australia with exceptional pops of colour here and there, that contrasted very well with the rest of the movie and made it clear that they were something important for both the characters and the viewer.
One of my favourite things about this movie was the constant contrast between happiness and sadness, it succeeded in treating difficult themes such as depression in a serious yet never heavy on the viewer way.
